Worship over Wollongong

Inviting singers to form a massed choir

 

Worship over Wollongong is acknowledging 200 years of Christian worship in Wollongong with a program of congregational praise and worship songs including well-known hymns and contemporary songs, some especially arranged for the choir.

On this occasion our guest conductor currently is “In-House” conductor, Chorus Master, repetiteuristand arranger in the National Opera of Lorraine, Nancy, France.

Our singing is accompanied by:

•the Wollongong Town Hall pipe organ, with an invited international organist
•the Wollongong Salvation Army Band, and “This Way” youth band
•two pianos in crusade-style hymn playing, and a guest solo vocalist.

 

Worship over Wollongong is calling for soprano, alto, tenor and bass singers to join our massed choir which will lead a congregation in singing praise and worship to God on the evening of 22 August 2015.

Wollongong Gospel Choir is the core group within our massed choir.  People intending to join our massed choir for the Worship over Wollongongevent should:

•attend four (4) massed choir rehearsals scheduled for:
1.21stJuly starting at 7pm at Gwynneville Senior Citizens Centre, GippsSt, Wollongong
2.4thAugust starting at 7pm at Gwynneville Senior Citizens Centre, GippsSt, Wollongong
3.19thAugust starting at 7pm at Wollongong Salvation Army, 11-13 BurelliSt, Wollongong
4.22ndAugust – the day of our worship event – rehearsals from 10am through to 6pm
