TRAINING AND MOBILISING THE EGYPTIAN CHURCH
Over the past 8 years we have been executing with passion and determination a call to stand alongside the church in Egypt. Regular readers of our newsletters will be aware that, in conjunction with Ps. Ben Gray and his CHI-Ministries team, we have been involved in hosting a week of training for pastors and leaders from all denominations across Egypt. The motivation behind this vision is to do with a word that came to us indicating that, “it was a time for change, in this nation and region.” At the same time an invitation came to us from senior leaders in that nation to come alongside the church, to act like ‘midwives,’ to help birth what was on the Lord’s heart. Today the church in Egypt is showing signs of increased growth and resilience in the midst of mounting opposition and pressures, especially from extremist groups. The Egyptian church has a long and ancient Christian heritage, and it’s place in the region is crucial to the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
Over this time, we have helped, taught, mentored and counselled hundreds or pastors and leaders at our annual pastors and leaders conference, which also incorporates a leaders of tomorrow seminar and a marriage builders track. Each year the numbers have grown, from 300 in the first year to 750 last year; this year will be no exception. Hear what two Australian pastors had to say following their time with us in Egypt.
“Egypt is a strategic country for reaching North Africa and the Middle East. Ben’s God-given vision for North Africa is inspiring. His commitment to prayer, his tenacity of vision and sheer hard work are beginning to reap extraordinary results. The potential for North Africa and the surrounding nations is so exciting. I believe in what he’s doing and support him and his vision 100%” Ps. Bruce Hills – World Outreach International.
“This is a defining time for Egypt, its church and for the Arab world. Ben’s annual team visits to encourage, equip and pray for the leaders of the church in this nation is strategic and sensitively timely. It is greatly appreciated and well received by the local leadership. Prayer and financial support for a continuation of this work is vital. Rev. Dr Stuart Robinson, Founding Pastor Crossway Baptist Church.
This year we again need your help to continue to train and resource the church in Egypt. Can you again dig deep and help us build on the foundations we have laid. Each leader costs approximately $50 per head for the week. This covers transportation, accommodation and food. The teaching team accompanying me cover their own costs.
Please consider sowing $50 dollars to train one leader?
