A Bible reading marathon has been planned for Sydney over three days from February 3rd-6th, 2016. Permission has been obtained to read the Bible in Richard Johnson Square, corner of Hunter and Bligh Streets, Sydney, from 8pm Wednesday February 3rd up till 8pm Saturday Feb 6th. On 3rd of February 1788 Richard Johnson preached his first sermon in the new settlement near the spot that the Bible reading will take place. This is also the site of the first church and school in Sydney. Organisers are looking for faithful, faith-filled Bible believing Christians who will volunteer to read the scriptures in public. If you desire to slot into this or have any other ways that you could help, please let organisers know.

To fill the 72 hours, day and night, organisers are looking for:

Site Captains oversighting 3 hour time Watches & gathering 6 to 12 Bible readers.

Bible Readers who will read for 15 minute time slots, or do several slots.

Men who are willing to be safety supervisors, to be seen to be present and protective.

It would be good if readers would arrive 15 minutes before their allotted time, to pray for the person reading before them and maybe the one after.

The Bible is God’s word, His revelation of who He is and how he desires us to respond to Him. “So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
