Passion drives leadership.

I spoke to a pastor the other day asking if I could use one of his church resources. His answer was quick as a flash: “Sure; it’s all about Jesus!” No hiding his passion!

How many passions can a Christian leader have?
A passion for getting others to know Jesus
A passion for the Bible story about Jesus
A passion for worshipping Jesus
A passion for Jesus’ family, the Church
A passion for doing what Jesus did

There is room for all sorts of passions in the Gospel!

Passion level a bit low? Meditate on David’s response when things went wrong: David found strength in the Lord his God.

Two local passion stories:

1. Rev Thayil John and his wife minister at the Keiraville Anglican Church. They have had contact with people from 43 different nationalities and there are currently 20 different nationalities represented in this unique church. Thayil has some helpful insightsinto what drives him.

2. Pastor Kim Iredale heads up the Grace Church Shellharbour. Kim has battled cancer for some time, and in his own words, “I shouldn’t be alive”. All Christian leaders should read his surprising and moving storyof passion mixed with grace and love.

The network testimonies pageis still growing and we continue to hear some amazing stories of what God is doing in the lives of local Christians.

Here’s a pretty slick way of presenting church newsfrom the Shellharbour City Community Church!

Australian Christian Book of the Year

Hard Stuff: Quoting Jesus: “What comes out of a man makes him ‘unclean’. For from within, out of men’s hearts come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance, and folly….”
Jesus also had something to say to those who call a person a fool and to those look at a woman lustfully.
