More about Micah Challenge.

Christians around Australia have been campaigning together as Micah Challenge since 2005, calling on the Government to play its part in helping to halve global poverty and achieve eight Millennium Development Goals (for more info on the MDG’shttp://www.micahchallenge.org.au/what-we-do) that tackle some of poverty’s worst effects by 2015. We have made enormous progress in the fight against poverty, but in this election year it is vitally important that our politicians all commit to fully supporting this fight, which is what our ‘Finish the Race’ campaign is all about. Finishing what we started when we signed on to the Millennium Development Goals.

Participation in the Finish the Race campaign (at an individual church level) involves:

1.       Show the Finish the Race presentation that highlights progress the world has made against poverty and shows what Australia needs to do to accelerate that     progress (7 ½ min).

2.       Take a group photo to send to your federal politician (to demonstrate constituency support).

3.       Invite participants to sign ‘The Movement to End Poverty’ petition (a joint action of the Micah Challenge & Make Poverty History coalitions).
