CSI Finance Manager

Ministry Description

Purpose:

To serve with an exciting international leadership team and empower the international body of Christian Surfers by managing the finances of CSI to their maximum potential.

Objectives:

  • To ensure good systems of financial accounting
  • To work as part of the international office team along with the International Director (ID), Operations Manager (OM) and Resource Manager (RM)
  • To be creative in helping improve the overall financial position of CSI

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Book keeping with MYOB
  • Manage accounts payable
  • Receipt payments
  • Reconcile accounts
  • Process superannuation payments
  • Work with Treasurer in preparing cash flow reports, overall budget, budget to actuals (highlighting variables) etc. for the ID and board meetings
  • Liaise with OM for merchandise sales, partnerships and upcoming travel and events
  • Provide timely, friendly accurate customer responses to all transactions and requests regarding CSI payments within a week
  • Maintain insurance
  • Provide regular reporting on stipend usage to stipend recipients, ID, OM and Treasurer
  • Prepare accounts for auditor
  • Setup and maintain credit card payments
  • Process local and international bank payments
  • Manage banking arrangements

Accountability:

To the CSI International Director and CSI Treasurer

Term:

Commit ideally for a minimum of 3 years with first 4 months probation and position reviewed every 6 months.

Skills and Character Required:

  • High level of Christian integrity and local church member
  • Commitment to Christian mission and willingness to engage with CSI
  • Take initiative and responsibility to develop and improve systems
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Accounting background, MYOB in particular
  • Flexibility and resourcefulness

Time and Work Expectations:

  • Paid position 6-10hrs/week with $200/week reimbursement
  • Correspondence to be maintained through the week as necessary
  • Attend monthly office team meetings
  • Work from the CSI office one day a week ideally
  • Illawarra or Sydney based person preferred
  • Encouraged to participate in the International Conference (once every 2 years) at own expense
