A hungry leader creates a hungry church
Having the answers does not guarantee spiritual growth in others
Spiritual hunger is different than physical hunger in one significant way. In the physical realm, when a hungry person eats, the appetite is quenched. But in the spiritual realm, hunger for God creates even more hunger. As seekers hunger for God, they are filled, but with even more hunger for Him. Spiritual hunger is rewarded with a greater capacity for hunger. (
Charisma Leader)
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? Psalm 42
Many years ago I was on a ship, the largest in our fleet. The commodore captain (Swedish) had a personal leadership philosophy: “The fish goes rotten in the head first”. He took personal responsibility for the culture of the entire vessel.
The leader can create spiritual hunger
- Get personally more desperate for God.
- Hang around others who experience more.
- Refocus on what’s important.
- Be transparent and take risks.
God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11)
