We invite you and your church to join us for the National Day of Prayer and Fasting (NDOPF) on Saturday 22 February 10AM – 4PM. The exciting News is the Governor General, David Hurley will be contributing to the Canberra NDOPF Celebration and will be seen in the webcast on the day live. An A4 poster with the details is available here.
This year Awaken Church 197-199 Keira St, Wollongong is kindly allowing the combined churches NDOPF celebration to use their venue for the day. The last three years have been hosted by CityLife Church Fairy Meadow, Shellharbour Community Church and Figtree Anglican church.
The theme for 2020 is “Together for the Glory of God.” Inspired by Romans 15:6, “Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We also give thanks for the rain, and continue to pray for those affected by the fires . We need to remember those who gave their life fighting the fires, those who died or were injured and give thank for the many miracle escapes that occurred across the nation.
The foundational scripture for the National Day of Prayer & Fasting is found in 2 Chronicles 7:13,14, “ When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land ”.
The Illawarra is in desperate need of a spiritual awakening so that more people will come to know Jesus Christ. Our Saviour said in Matthew 7:7,8, “Ask and it will be given to you”, and again in Luke 18, he told them a parable about the widow woman who kept on crying out for mercy, “to show them they should always pray and not give up ”.
“There has never been a spiritual awakening in any country or locality that did not begin in united prayer” – A. T. Pierson.

The World Day of Prayer is a global ecumenical movement led by Christian women who welcome you to join in prayer and action for peace and justice. Through preparation and participation in the worship service, we can come to know how our sisters of other countries, languages and cultures understand the Biblical passages in their context. We can hear their concerns and needs and can feel ourselves in solidarity with them as we pray with and for them. In this way, it is possible to enrich our Christian faith as it grows deeper and broader in an international, ecumenical expression.
The Illawarra Business Hub meets 7am on the first Friday of each month at the Yallah Woolshed.
The aim is to help encourage business people and grow in a Christian manner, giving God all the glory.
Every Friday 7am Prayer Breakfast . It’s a time for prayer for our region, fellowship and a godly start to the day. Meets at the offices of Warwick Marsh, Dads4Kids, behind Central Rd shops, through KFC carpark Unanderra.
Pray with, and for, other Christian leaders in your area.
