A thought on Plagues
Most of us know 2 Chronicles 7:14 by heart. The preceding verse is included in the same sentence.
13 “
When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people,
14 if my people, who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
We get a similar thought in the NT.
This is a really sad picture of the future. Could God be calling the world to account? How can we make sense of, and live full of faith, hope and love in these times?
The New York Times published a header Opinion article on Where is God in this pandemic? Written by a Jesuit priest going through cancer treatment.
Follow link, excellent food for thought.
No matter what our interpretation of the times…
We can shine as a people of hope. God is with us, let’s embrace the future, using the word “repent” in holy power. Be full of faith and answers. Be brave, speak the truth in love in new contexts. Pray heaps. Connect with God. Believe in miracles. Our churches are full of people with new ideas. Let the warriors loose on the streets and on line.
