1. Sharing strengths to bless and encourage other churches in your area.
When I was at theological college, we learnt the history of the church through the centuries, the major splits, the issues, the movements, the heroes, and finally the roots and history of our own denomination.

Our denomination had ‘distinctives’, our strengths, our highlighted doctrines, our selling points in the marketplace.

It never occurred to me that our strengths could belong to the wider church and that I could actually learn something and be blessed by other churches.

Yes, there are basics, as long as our basics are not more onerous than God’s basics e.g.Acts 15:28,29. The war against the church is ramping up, we can’t afford the luxury of ‘theological isolationism’, the world out there is not interested.

Let us relax in who we are in Christ. Let us love our brethren across the street, and make the effort to find ways to intentionally bless them. How about doing it in secret! That’s how it is in the Kingdom.

A way forward would be for local fraternals to take the concept on as a key project.

Great, short, YouTube report on the Illawarra Day of Prayer and Fasting.
See also a 2 minute locally produced clip on the power of unity in prayer

God hears us better than we hear Him.

That’s a good reason to say less and listen more when praying.

3. The Australian Prayer Network has produced some important newsletters lately. The world is changing quickly around us, we need to be a be a people of prayer. See the KCI page for a library of APN newsletters.

4. There are some great Christian movies around at the moment.
Heritage Films and other outlets like Word sell a large range.
The movie War Room is still selling well.
A couple of popular new releases are  God’s not dead 2 and Risen.

There will be a FREE special advance screening of God’s Not Dead 2 for Christian leaders & Ministers at two locations in the Illawarra on Thursday 14th April 2016. This independent Movie opens in Australian Cinemas on 28th April. God’s Not Dead is getting rave reviews from Christian leaders in the USA where it opened on the 1st of April. It came in at number 4 in the Box Office in its opening weekend against Batman V Superman and other Hollywood blockbusters. This is an astounding result considering God’s not Dead’s budget at 5 million is just over 2% of Batman V Superman budget of 250 Million.
