Beware! This will be happening in central Wollongong and Shellharbour one day!
Being Naturally Supernatural
It has been said that Christians can be so heavenly minded as to be no earthly use.
The opposite is true.
As we focus on higher things, holy things, heavenly things, and kingdom things, we personally reflect the Kingdom culture. Our highest aspiration is to walk with God, to experience His very Presence.
Where we go, the Spirit of Jesus goes.
And the world around us takes note:
“When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realised that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13.
See link (first few minutes) of “JESUS 16 PANEL” It’s a powerful insight into this Kingdom culture from one of he world’s best known pastors.
The Power and the Spread of Testimonies
1. Local Christians have been sharing their testimonies on Pulse 941 Follow link to the Pulse website story
2. These testimonies are called ‘Everyday Miracles’ and are on the new Kingdom Connections Illawarra website. Follow Link to 350 stories
3. The new Illawarra for Jesus Facebook page has just started “Testimony Tuesday”
4. Some local churches are hearing people’s ‘God stories’ during their services; for example:
Shellharbour Community Church has a bi-monthly Vibes Night which is “pretty well given over” (to quote: Ps Shane Cook) to the sharing of testimonies.
Shellharbour Baptist Church have a weekly Testimony Time during church.
5. Testimonies figure strongly in evangelism (see ‘No Place center’ below)
It’s all part of what God is doing in our region.

Jesus center the upper room with his disciples[a] and, as was his habit, went to the Mount of Olives, his place of secret prayer Luke 22:39 TPT
Under Labor’s proposed new laws, Christian parents could become criminals and domestic abusers simply for affirming that their sons are boys and their daughters are girls.
Hidden within their draft policy is an extraordinary attack on people of faith and on parents’ rights. The document states:
“Labor opposes the practice of so-called conversion and reparative therapies on LGBTIQ+ people and seek to criminalise these practices”.

Spring into Corrimal Sunday September 9th
(From the SIC website)
Spring into Corrimal is now the largest one day free family festival in the Illawarra and Regional NSW.
Already some local churches are involved.
From Louise Beaton, Community Care Pastor from the Corrimal Uniting Church:
Spring into Corrimal is in real need of some volunteers early in the morning at 6am for about 2 hours and later some more volunteers for between 9am and 10am. The first time slot is a simple job of checking stallholders’ allocated stall and showing them where it is. It’s called bumping in. The second time slot is for marshalling the grand parade crowds. These would be wonderful opportunities for some people from churches to offer to serve and help the event. This year we give thanks that our church Corrimal Region Uniting Church celebrates being the longest serving partner of Spring into Corrimal (8 years). We have been blessed by the connections we have fostered with our local community and the opportunities it has brought. This year the street outside our church is all focussed on being inclusive and we will have a mural where people can place an “inclusive” paper doll. Please pray that the mural will be well attended and relationships built upon. Contact details on website
Movement Day is becoming a premier forum to bring Australian Christians together to explore best practice, and in particular to expand our cultural vision from ministering to churches to ministering to towns and cities.
The next 2 day conference is in Sydney 8th and 9th May 2019
There is a special Round Table Tuesday October 30th at the Salvation Army Headquarters, 261-265 Chalmers St, Sydney NSW 2016 Follow link for details
(Last years dates on this visual aid)
The Tuesday October 30th Round Table is a half day of dialogue and discussion to assist leaders from Church, Christian agencies and market place, young and older, to further develop a gospel movement in their respective communities.
A gospel movement flourishes in a city or town when leaders collaborate to proclaim the gospel in word and deed to their respective communities. These leaders would include Church, market place, not for profits, youth, women, ethnic and community influencers, all with the desire for city transformation through the gospel.
Discussion points to include:
* Building church unity
* Understanding your community demography
* Connecting the spheres (business, education etc)
* Releasing women into effective mission
* Building citywide prayer teams
* Building bridges into the community
* Raising up city “champions”
