Finding the right person for ministry
Many years ago, God had a huge project on His agenda. The task was to change the course of history and lead an enslaved nation out from within the most powerful nation on earth. The first key step was to find a leader.
God found a man, his name was Moses.
He was an interesting character, maybe different from the Moses of some movies.
Was brought up in the Egyptian royal family after being abandoned as a baby.
Committed murder and was on the run.
Ended up looking after his father in laws sheep. From there God called him.
Began his ministry when in his 80’s. He had “faltering lips”
Argued at length and face to face with God against his calling.
Was given spiritual authority through the working of signs and wonders.
Was given an associate who was able to speak well and to also work miracles.
Along with Aaron, under God’s direction, they virtually destroyed Egypt.
Led a reluctant Israel for many years, always reverting to spiritual authority.
He had to be taught to delegate.
Although having an intimate relationship with God, sought for more.
(Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.)
Imagine searching for a leader and choosing someone who was old, running from the role, wasn’t a good speaker, wasn’t a good manager and was embarrassingly humble.
However he/she had spiritual authority and was brave enough to seek even more of God
From Stephen Cathcart, pastor, Southern Illawarra Church of Christ concerning SRE in the local schools:
“Here in Albion Park we work together as churches to provide SRE in 4 primary schools and our local high school. This year we have a team of 22 people from our 5 churches. We also have 3 school chaplains operating in 3 of the 4 primary schools. During the year the students have asked for bibles and this led to a concerted effort of the churches to purchase and supply bibles to the children who brought a note from their parents. The school principal was supportive of this venture by writing about it in the school newsletter. We give thanks to God for his work in the lives of the children and for our work together to give glory to God and an expression of his church”

The Tuesday October 30th Round Table is a half day of dialogue and discussion to assist leaders from Church, Christian agencies and market place, young and older, to further develop a gospel movement in their respective communities.

Discussion points to include:
* Building church unity
* Understanding your community demography
* Connecting the spheres (business, education etc)
* Releasing women into effective mission
* Building citywide prayer teams
* Building bridges into the community
* Raising up city “champions”

Seen in a local church bulletin:
Poster seen in a church in France (translated)
“When you enter this church it may be possible that you hear ‘The Call of God’.
However, it is unlikely that He will call you on your mobile.
Thank you for turning off your phone.
If you want to talk to God, enter, choose a quiet place and talk to Him.
If you want to see, send Him a text while driving”
Pray with, and for, other Christian leaders in your area.
How is your local leaders fellowship going?
There are currently 6 people from different churches (with Darryl Stewart as Coordinator) on the board who take responsibility for the network.
