1. The Christian community responds.

This is great news!

Bishop Peter Ingham from the Catholic Churchhas sent out the ‘A Vote for the Voiceless, A Statement by the Catholic Bishops of Australia‘ to 35 churches and 35000 homes plus all Catholic primary and high schools in the local Catholic diocese.

In addition, Archbishop Fischer from the Sydney Archdiocese has sent out a focused Election Time Statement (which includes an election guide) to 65000 families in the Catholic schools in Sydney. It is strong on protecting marriage.

The Anglican‘Religious Freedom Reference Group for Sydney Diocese’ has published an article for senior clergy ‘Why we need a plebiscite

The article is written focusing on the current campaign to politicise the drive to change the definition of marriage. The implications are enormous as the next step is to then define any Christian conscience outworking on the sanctity of marriage as being illegal. It’s already happening overseas.
