1. Praying like an ‘outsider’ or an ‘insider’?
Outsider praying. We may be familiar with routine, rote, dry, offhanded style praying. Simply saying words and hoping for the best is outsider praying.
There is something better. We can pray from our position of being seated with Him in heavenly realms, praying as a heavenly insider.
Insider praying is characterised by:
Worship: Overwhelmed by the glory of God and the wonder of heavenly realms
Jesus focused: Giving all attention to the centerepiece of heaven, Jesus Himself
Relational: Communicating while seated with Him on the throne.
Passionate: Like a bride, desperately smitten with her King of Kings..
Conversational: Lovers talk endlessly, sharing their deepest thoughts and needs.
Urgent: Like a child with so much to tell Daddy.
“I will tell you, for I never saw a man get anything from God who prayed on the earth. If you get anything from God, you will have to pray into heaven; for it is all there. If you are living in the earth realm and expect things from heaven, they will never come. And as I saw, in the presence of God, the limitations of my faith,”
Smith Wigglesworth, Faith That Prevails
“Pray until you are praying” (from a local Anglican minister)
