I’m writing to invite you to join the ACL Team and I in Canberra for our National Conference from October 24-25.

Our conference theme, Speak Up, is taken from Proverbs 31:8 which says: Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.

Whether it is persecuted religious minorities in Iraq and Syria, the poor everywhere, our indigenous peoples, the plight of the unborn, the crisis in child well-being or the challenges to freedom of religion, now is not a time for silence.

We are honoured to have the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon Bill Shorten, as our keynote speaker.

He will join a stellar line-up of top quality speakers who will inspire us about our responsibility to bring justice and compassion into public policy.

  • Most Rev Anthony Fisher OP, Catholic Bishop of Parramatta.
  • Shayne Neumann, Federal Member for Blair on indigenous issues
  • Karl Faase, Senior Pastor Gymea Baptist Church, CEO Olive Tree Media, presenter Daily Nudge radio spots & host Towards Belief series on defusing belief blockers, on engaging with the tough issues,
  • Elizabeth Kendal, religious liberty analyst on speaking up for the persecuted,
  • Jim Wallace AM, ACL Deputy Chairman on global trends affecting Australia, and
  • Paul Henderson, worldview expert and popular Lachlan Macquarie Internship tutor on why Christians need a political theology.

These are challenging times globally and domestically. Now more than ever, our voice is needed.

Come and join us as we tackle big public policy issues but also celebrate the great campaigning successes we have achieved together.
